Will any of you be in NYCC 2012?


I will go as a visitor and go around the event to meet some friends and colleague in their booths but sadly, I will not have a table there (I wish I had!)). If possible, I might be sitting at a friend's table for a few hours on Friday/Saturday/Sunday .

Anyway,  I have never done this before but if any of you want a commission done, hit me up with PM/Note and I can do a pre-con sktech and we can meet up in NYCC! I am so excited to go!

Hi friends!

So, I am finally in the middle of everything: pages to do for FIBDA 2012 --suppose to be my priority-, samples pages for practices, and inking somebody's pages. Anyway, I succeeded to attend two important cons: Heroes Con and San 'freakin' Diego Comic Con! If I'm lucky, I'll be going to NYCC in October 2012 too .

Heroes Con was a blast for me and my friends. I shared a table with and we were having so much fun doing commissions, buying awesome sketchbooks and prints, as well as running around trying to get portfolio reviews from any of our favorite artists that wasn't TOO busy doing commissions by that time. I even talked and got a review from Bill Sienkiewicz himself! I thought I was gonna have a heart attack!

While I was busy in Heroes Con, in SDCC, I had more time for myself: walking around to find things to by for friends who couldn't be there and attending some panels/programs with friends. I attended Klaus Janson and Bill Sienkiewicz (hell yea I wasn't not gonna miss this one!) panel. Also, I met some editors there . Some time, I sat at SCAD booth, drawing and just hanging out with my professors who seemed to have good times too.
Fun times!

Anyhoo,
things just get real now and I'm working on pages (and when I'm procrastinating, you'll see me posting things I shouldn't ).

My friends and I will share tables in Heroes Comic Con 2012, June 22-24 in Charlotte, NC. My first time opening a table in a con! YAY! Here's the complete address, admission, and schedule:

Kids 12 & Under get in FREE!

SHOW HOURS:

I might have some sketchbooks and or process books to sell. Of course I will open ink-sketch commission there too --check out my ink-sketches in my gallery *wink! I don't have the table number yet but we will be in Artists' Alley for sure. Please do come and say hi if you're around! Also, I am planning to go to San Diego Comic Con. i am working on a sample script right now.
two days ago, one of my prof looked at the pencilled pages that i did. he told he no one's gonna be able to pull it off but me because it's gonna be too painful to do since they have too much details. well, i did try to tone them down but it just doesn't work that well. i will post them up as soon as i finish because right now, i am one page short.

the inking DOES take me FOREVER. i hate it when my prof is right. pfffbt.

morning everyone,

this week has been an another great week for me. i got my portfolio reviewed by one of my fav artists, skottie young. he's so inspiring and i got such great advices and inputs. his workshop was also a LOT of fun. really made my weekend although i wasn't being very productive. i was so exhausted yet excited at the same time all thruout this weekend.

anyhoo, our KICKSTARTER project has been funded. it is also featured in STAFF PICKS! here's the link: [link]. isn't it awesome?? my friends and i are very excited about the development of our anthology. also, we're in the finishing stage of the artworks since the end of the quarter is coming near. plus, what's more important about the kickstarter is i get the chance to ink all of my one-of-my-best-buddies' pages for the anthology, jorge corona. here's the link to his AWESOMENESS : jorgecor.deviantart.com. i am not a professional inker, i just started inking a few months ago. so, to all Jorge's fans out there, please don't kill me if i screw up his pencils XD. so far i've finished one page and it turned out to be quite "satisfying".

This is my first time submitting my work for any contests. Truthfully, I never thought my artwork is anywhere near those international artists who join the event. I've got nothing to lose so I decided to create these four within 15 hours left and uploaded them in the last 30 seconds.

Randall (18)
A teenage-boy who lives in an orphanage and has the power to talk to machine and most artificial/mechanical non-living creatures. He has had this ability ever since he could spell his first word.

Bootsy (10)
A little girl who also lives in the same orphanage as Randall and insists that they are both siblings. Bootsy has the power to move things no matter how heavy they are. However, she seems to have problems controlling her power when she's mad or upset or simply unhappy.

Iona (17)
Iona lives with her grandfather, Mr. Willem in a small apartment on the second floor of their clock-repairing-store. She helps Mr. Willem repair the clock with her special ability. She can see through everything, that's how she finds what's wrong with every piece of broken clock/watches in the store.

Mr. Willem (70)
Mr. Willem loves two things in the world, his granddaughter and clocks/watches. He has taken care of Iona since she was a baby. He accepts Randall as an apprentice in his store when he learns about Randall's ability from Iona whose bike is fixed by Randall.

When an archeological dig-site by the sea near the orphanage collapsed and strange things starts to happen in the small city where they lives, the three of them intends to investigate the matters because they have proof that serious threats will spread to the entire world. The problem is, no one would listen to them but the old Mr. Willem. So they set out to help the world with whatever they have: their friendship and their love for the city they live in.
